The last half hour of a Çukurova Airport to Kayseri Melikgazi transfer looks nothing like the first few hours. You start on open plain, climb through the mountains and finish in the oldest, busiest streets of the city. A hotel near Cumhuriyet Square is lovely for sightseeing, but arriving by car calls for a little preparation. This page covers the journey from arrivals to your old-town door, and how to plan the way back.

Who Meets You at Arrivals

Put your flight number in the booking. We track the flight, and if it lands late, the pickup time moves to match. After baggage claim, head through the arrivals exit and look for your driver holding a sign with your name.

If you need a child seat, add it as an extra and give your child's age. It is a long drive. Small preparations matter.

Taurus Behind You, Erciyes Ahead

Leaving the airport on the Tarsus side, the road runs across flat land for a while. Then the Taurus begins and the route crosses on the Pozantı side, a winding and in places steep section. Winter can bring snow and fog. In summer, the mountain air is a welcome change from the coastal heat.

Beyond the mountains the wide Anatolian horizon opens up and, nearing Kayseri, Mount Erciyes dominates the view. Once inside the city the drive changes character entirely: traffic lights, junctions, tram tracks and streets that narrow toward the centre. Morning and evening rush hours can slow the final stretch.

Arriving at an Old-Town Hotel

Some streets around the square are pedestrianised or tight for vehicles. Put the hotel's full name and phone number in the notes, along with any vehicle access directions the hotel gives you. On very narrow lanes, a sedan manoeuvres more easily than a van. If the car cannot reach the door, it stops at the nearest safe point, and a suitcase with wheels makes that last short walk easy.

Think about the return trip when you choose the car. Guests who stock up on pastırma, boxed gifts and copperware in the bazaars sometimes need a bigger class going home. A Premium Sedan suits couples, a VIP Vito suits families, and groups fit in the eight-seat Mercedes Vito or a Mercedes Sprinter. All prices are per vehicle.

Book the Return With the Arrival

The last day of a city break flies by: breakfast, one more bazaar run, closing the suitcase. When working back from your departure time, allow for both the mountain road and traffic leaving the centre. Tick “Add return” when you book and both legs sit in one reservation. Changes can be requested from the My Reservation page.

For more on the square, the Hunat Hatun Complex and the other trips we run from the centre, see our Melikgazi transfer page. To start, select Çukurova Airport as pickup and Melikgazi as drop-off in the booking form.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the car pull up outside a hotel in the historic centre?

Most hotels can be reached at the door or very close to it, but some streets around the square are pedestrian zones or too narrow. In those cases the driver stops at the nearest safe point. Adding the hotel name, phone number and any access directions to your notes makes the arrival straightforward.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your flight using the number in your booking. If the plane lands late, the pickup time is updated to the actual landing, with no need for you to call. Your driver waits at the arrivals exit with a sign showing your name, and you set off directly for your address in Melikgazi.

How early should we leave the centre on the way back?

The centre can be busy during morning and evening rush hours, and the mountain road comes on top of that. Choose a return pickup that works back from your flight time with a generous margin, a little more in winter. If plans change, send a change request from the My Reservation page.

Which vehicle suits a family with young children?

A family of four or five with suitcases and a pushchair fits comfortably in a VIP Vito. Two families together are better served by the eight-seat Mercedes Vito. Add child seats as an extra and note your children's ages; the booking form shows the per-vehicle price of every class.
