Airport Transfer
An airport transfer service for Adana and Mersin has two jobs. Meet you when you land, and get you back to the terminal in good time when you leave. Çukurova Express plans both directions as one piece of work. This page walks you through how it runs in practice: the booking, the landing, the name sign at arrivals, the ride to your door, and the drive back for your departing flight. Luggage, vehicle choice and delays are covered too. Think of it as the operating manual.
Which Airport Serves Adana and Mersin?
This catches out many returning visitors. The old Şakirpaşa Airport in central Adana no longer handles passenger flights; scheduled passenger services have moved to Çukurova Airport, airport code COV, in the Tarsus district of Mersin province.
The new airport sits between the two cities, near the Adana border. Travellers bound for Adana head east, those going to Mersin head south-west, and anyone staying in Tarsus has a short ride. For a guide to every destination served from the terminal, see our Çukurova Airport transfer page.
Two Directions, One Airport Transfer Service
Arrivals: terminal to your address
You land, collect your bags and walk out through the arrivals exit. Your name is on a sign. No taxi queue, no haggling, no explaining directions in a language you may not speak. The car takes you straight to your hotel, office, apartment or holiday home, and nobody else shares it.
Departures: your address to the terminal
The return leg deserves just as much care. A missed flight is expensive and stressful. We collect you from the address in your booking and take you to the terminal for domestic or international departures. When choosing a pickup time, weigh up your departure time, your airline's check-in deadline, time for security, and the traffic at that hour. An early-morning run and a weekday rush-hour run are not the same road.
You do not need two separate bookings. The Add return option in the booking form keeps arrival and departure together in one reservation.
Before You Fly: Getting the Booking Right
A smooth airport run is set up before you board. A few accurate details make everything after that easier:
- Choose your start and end points. Arriving? The airport is your start. Leaving? It is your destination.
- Enter your flight number and date exactly; flight tracking depends on them.
- Pick a vehicle class with both passengers and luggage in mind.
- Add a child seat as an extra if you are travelling with young children.
- If you know your return date, use Add return to book the second leg now.
- Keep the My Reservation page handy, since change requests are sent from there.
The price appears in the form at this stage. It is per vehicle, not per passenger, so a family or team sharing one car pays for the vehicle class rather than per head.
On Arrival: Flight Tracking and the Name Sign
Flights run late. Connections get missed. Weather happens. Because your flight details are in the booking, we track your flight, and if it is delayed the pickup time is moved to match the new landing time. Nothing for you to do.
A completely different flight is another matter. If you have switched to another day or another service, send a change request through My Reservation so we are tracking the flight you are actually on.
At the arrivals exit you will see a sign with your name. For group bookings, the sign shows the name of the person who made the reservation. Simple, and it works.
Matching the Vehicle to Your Luggage
The most common mistake on airport runs is choosing a car by headcount alone. Three people with three large cases will stretch a saloon. Add golf bags, a pushchair or boxes of samples and the maths changes. Here is how our classes line up:
- Business Sedan, Premium Sedan and Comfort Class: up to 3 passengers, best for light-luggage business trips and couples.
- VIP Vito and Ultra VIP Vito: up to 6 passengers.
- Mercedes Vito: up to 8 passengers, a practical option for families and small groups.
- Ultra VIP Sprinter: up to 7 passengers, for groups you want to host well.
- Mercedes Sprinter: up to 15 passengers, suited to crews, wedding guests, event teams and anyone travelling with heavy luggage.
- Child seats: available as an extra in any class.
If in doubt, go one size up. Remember that after two weeks on the coast, the luggage coming home is usually heavier than the luggage that arrived.
What the Roads Are Like to Adana and Mersin
Towards Adana
The drive to Adana is mostly motorway. Transfers to hotels and offices in Seyhan and Çukurova, the industrial zone and university in Sarıçam, Yüreğir, and further east to Ceyhan all run this way. Expect heavier traffic entering the city at the end of the working day, and allow for it when heading back for a flight. Our airport to Adana transfer page covers this route in detail.
Towards Mersin
The Mersin direction passes Tarsus and continues to the city centre, Yenişehir and Mezitli, then along the coast through Erdemli, Kızkalesi and Silifke. The coast road comes alive in summer and weekend return traffic can be slow. For anyone working at Akkuyu, it is a long coastal drive. Practical tips for the run into central Mersin are on our airport to Mersin transfer page.
Tarsus and nearby
With the airport inside Tarsus district, trips to the town centre and surrounding industrial sites are short. The meet-and-greet and flight tracking are exactly the same.
When Your Plans Change
Meetings overrun. Holidays get cut short. Someone joins the team at the last minute. Open My Reservation and send a change request for the new date, time, address, flight number or passenger count. The sooner we know, the better the vehicle plan. If you want to stop somewhere on the way, say an office before the hotel, book the outbound and return as separate point-to-point transfers.
Book Your Airport Transfer
Have your ticket ready and the rest is quick. Open the booking form, choose the airport and your destination, enter your flight details and pick the vehicle class that fits your group and luggage. Prices for each class appear in the form. Add your departure leg with Add return, and both directions sit in a single reservation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which airport do flights to Adana use now?
Passenger flights no longer operate from the old Şakirpaşa Airport in central Adana. Scheduled passenger services moved to Çukurova Airport, code COV, in the Tarsus district of Mersin province near the Adana border. If COV is printed on your ticket, that is where you will land, and airport transfers to both Adana and Mersin start from there.
How will the driver find me at the airport?
You will be met at the arrivals exit by someone holding a sign with your name. For group bookings, the sign carries the name of the person who made the reservation. Because your flight details are in the booking, your landing is tracked and the pickup time is adjusted if the flight is delayed, so you do not need to call ahead.
Is the airport transfer priced per person?
No, prices are per vehicle. Whether one person or six travel in the car, the cost depends on the vehicle class and the route. Once you choose your destination in the booking form, the price for each class is displayed. Extras such as child seats are selected separately in the same form.
How early should I leave my hotel for a departing flight?
Set your pickup time by working back from your departure: allow for the airline's check-in deadline, security screening and the traffic on the road at that hour. International departures call for more time than domestic ones. Build in extra margin if you are leaving Adana at the end of the working day or driving in along the summer coast road.
Can I book my arrival and departure transfers together?
Yes. The Add return option in the booking form lets you plan the ride from the airport and the ride back in a single reservation. Simply enter your pickup address and departing flight details for the second leg. If anything changes later, send a change request through the My Reservation page.
