Roman Columns Between the Apartment Blocks

On Mezitli's shore stands one of the oldest places in the Mersin area: Soli Pompeiopolis. Founded as a Rhodian colony and later renamed after the Roman general Pompey, this ancient harbour city has a colonnaded street that now rises among modern apartment blocks. Excavations have uncovered the harbour, a theatre, baths and city walls, and there are plans to turn the site into an open-air archaeological park.

A short walk away is a very different Mezitli. Holiday complexes along the shore, a seafront promenade, cafés that fill up in the evening. Ancient columns and new balconies share the same view.

From Tece to Fındıkpınarı

Mezitli is not one compact town. Tece, Davultepe and Kuyuluk, once separate municipalities, are now neighbourhoods of the district, stretching the coastline westward. Inland, the road climbs into the Taurus and reaches upland neighbourhoods such as Fındıkpınarı, where Mersin residents go to escape the summer heat.

Long Stays, Plenty of Luggage

Guests at Mezitli's apart and suite hotels rarely stay for a night or two. A job lasting weeks, a project running for months, retirees wintering somewhere warm. Their luggage reflects it. Two people with four suitcases may find a Premium Sedan tight, and a VIP Vito more comfortable.

Where We Drive From Mezitli

From Mezitli we most often take passengers to the airport, central Mersin, Adana, and west towards Erdemli, Kızkalesi and Silifke. Which vehicle suits the road to the nature lodges?

The road to the lodges on Mezitli's mountain side is winding and narrow in places. For two or three people, a Business Sedan or Premium Sedan handles it easily. Small groups who want more space can choose the Ultra VIP Vito, and larger families the VIP Vito. Remember to write the lodge's name in the notes.

I am staying for a long time. Should I book my return now?
