From Muşkara to the New City
The name tells a story. This was once a small settlement called Muşkara. Damat İbrahim Pasha, the well-known grand vizier of the Tulip Era, came from here. He had his birthplace rebuilt with mosques, schools and fountains, and the town took the name Nevşehir, meaning “new city”.
Today Nevşehir Castle stands on the hill above town. From the streets climbing towards it you see the city below and, beyond it, the first tuff hills of Cappadocia. The centre is a modern provincial city. A few streets back, old stone houses still stand.

Not exactly. Nevşehir Merkez is the provincial capital, home to public offices, hospitals and the university. Cappadocia is the wider region that also includes towns such as Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp and Avanos. The city is a short drive from those towns, so many visitors combine the two in a single trip.
Which vehicle suits a student moving to university?
Moving in at enrolment usually means more than a suitcase: boxes, bedding, a few household items. For a student and one or two family members, the VIP Vito offers generous luggage space. Can I go on to Cappadocia after my meeting?
