About the destination

Transfer to Hatay

A Hatay transfer is rarely a trip to just one town. Hatay is Türkiye's southernmost province, stretched across both sides of the Amanos (Nur) Mountains, with a coastline, a broad plain and a string of towns near the Syrian border. Antakya, the old Antioch, sits in the south; port towns line the Gulf of İskenderun in the north. At Çukurova Express we plan each Hatay private transfer around that geography: you give us the address, we send a private car door to door.

Antioch, the gulf and the plain

Visitors often arrive with Antakya in mind. That makes sense. The city carries a long history as ancient Antioch, and many travellers come for its churches, mosques and old neighbourhoods, or simply for the food. But the province is bigger than its capital.

North of the mountains, Dörtyol and Payas face the gulf among orange groves. İskenderun and Arsuz sit right on the water. Cross the Belen pass and the view flattens into the Amik Plain, with Kırıkhan and Reyhanlı spread across farmland. Down south, Defne and Samandağ lie close to Antakya, and the Asi (Orontes) River reaches the sea near Samandağ. Distances look short on a map. The mountain road between coast and capital is not a fast one.

A city being rebuilt

Antakya was hit hard by the 2023 earthquakes and reconstruction is still under way. Some streets have been rebuilt; other districts are still construction zones. For a traveller this mostly means one thing: map pins and old street numbers may not match what is on the ground. When you book, add a well-known landmark next to your address in the notes field. It saves time at the door.

What draws people here is still very much present. Künefe, hummus, oruk and thyme-heavy breakfasts are reason enough for many. Families also come back for holidays and reunions, often in larger groups.

Getting around inside the province

  • Antakya to İskenderun over the Belen pass, for work or family
  • Summer beach days in Samandağ and Çevlik
  • Holiday homes and seaside hotels in Arsuz
  • Short visits to Defne and Harbiye
  • Business trips to farms and plants on the Amik Plain, around Kırıkhan and Reyhanlı
  • Rides from Dörtyol or Payas towards Adana and Mersin

İskenderun has its own page on our site, so we only touch on it here.

Flying in, and picking a vehicle

Some visitors use Hatay's own airport. Others land at Çukurova Airport when its flight times or connections suit them better. If that is your plan, we describe the road, the timing and what happens after landing on our airport to Hatay transfer page.

Vehicle choice comes down to headcount. For one to three passengers, Business Sedan, Premium Sedan or Comfort Class work well. VIP Vito and Ultra VIP Vito take up to six, a Mercedes Vito up to eight. Larger family groups usually pick the 15-seat Mercedes Sprinter or the 7-seat Ultra VIP Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and a child seat can be added as an extra. Next step: choose your Hatay point in the booking form and compare vehicle classes there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book a ride between two towns inside Hatay?

Yes. You can book a private door-to-door transfer between the Hatay points listed in our booking form, for example from Antakya to Arsuz or from İskenderun to Samandağ. If your day includes several stops, book each leg as its own point-to-point transfer. That way every ride has a clear time and a vehicle that matches your group.

How should I describe an address in Antakya?

Because reconstruction is ongoing, some street names and building numbers may have changed. Write your full address and add a nearby landmark such as a mosque, school, junction or well-known shop. If you are staying in a new housing estate, include the block name in the notes field. Small details like these help the driver find you on the first attempt.

Is the price per passenger?

No. Prices are calculated per vehicle, so the number of passengers does not change the fare as long as you stay within the vehicle's capacity. For bigger families that often makes a Vito or Sprinter the sensible choice. You will see the current price for each vehicle class in the booking form once you select your destination.

Can I manage my booking after paying?

After booking online, open the My Reservation page to view your details and send a change request for the time or address. If you want the return trip in the same booking, use the Add return option in the form; there is no need for a second reservation. We recommend sending any change request as early as you can.
