Çukurova Airport Uzuncaburc Transfer
Vehicles & Prices
Price per vehicle — pick a class and book in a minute.
A Çukurova Airport to Uzuncaburc transfer joins two very different landscapes: first the long Mersin coastline, then the mountain road climbing north from Silifke. The airport lies on the Tarsus side; Uzuncaburç sits on the plateau above Silifke. Most people making this trip are travellers heading straight for the ruins, or families returning to villages on the plateau. Here is how the journey unfolds, from landing to arrival in the hills.
The Day Starts at Arrivals
We track your flight number. If the plane is late, the pickup time follows the actual landing. After baggage reclaim, your driver is waiting at the arrivals exit with a sign showing your name.
This matters if you are landing early and want to see the ruins the same day. A delay does not ruin your plan; it simply shifts it. The road takes care of the rest.
Coast Road, Then Mountain Road
The first section heads west along the coast: the outskirts of Mersin, the lemon groves of Erdemli, the sea castle at Kızkalesi and the rocky coves of Narlıkuyu. At Silifke you drop into the Göksu plain. From there the road turns north and starts to climb.
The road up to the plateau is winding but scenic. At Demircili, house-shaped Roman tombs appear right beside the road; most travellers get their first glimpse of them through the car window. As you gain height the air cools, and olive and carob trees give way to pines and stony fields. Then the tower comes into view. You have arrived.
Preparing for the Mountain Section
A long coastal stretch followed by a winding climb makes your choice of vehicle a question of comfort.
- A couple or two travellers: Premium Sedan or Comfort Class
- A small group who want room to stretch: Ultra VIP Vito
- A photography team with camera bags and tripods: VIP Vito
- A study tour or student group: Mercedes Sprinter
- A family of up to eight with luggage: Mercedes Vito
- A smaller group wanting extra comfort: Ultra VIP Sprinter
If anyone is prone to car sickness, the front seat helps on the bends. Even in summer the plateau is cooler than the coast, so pack a light layer for the late afternoon. Good walking shoes are wise too. The ancient paving is anything but smooth.
Arrival, Your Visit and Moving On
For more about the ruins, the monuments in the village and stops you can add on the same day, see our Uzuncaburc page.
Uzuncaburc is a small highland village, and most travellers stay overnight in Silifke, Taşucu or Kızkalesi and come up for the day. So think of the day in two legs: one transfer from the airport to Uzuncaburc, and a separate one from the ruins to your hotel. You can add the airport return with the Add return option in the booking form. To begin, choose Çukurova Airport as pickup and Uzuncaburc as drop-off, and enter your flight number.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the road from the airport to Uzuncaburc like?
The first and longest part is the coast road through Mersin, Erdemli, Kızkalesi and Silifke. After Silifke the road turns north and climbs to the plateau along a winding route, passing the Roman tombs at Demircili. On the bends, passengers who are prone to car sickness may want to sit in the front seat.
Can we go to the ruins straight from the plane?
Yes, many travellers do. Book a transfer from Çukurova Airport to Uzuncaburc; because we track your flight, a delay shifts the pickup to the actual landing. After your visit, plan a separate point-to-point transfer from the ruins to your hotel. With a lot of luggage, going to the hotel first may be easier.
What should we wear for the plateau?
The plateau is noticeably cooler than the coast, so even in summer a light extra layer is useful for the late afternoon. The ancient street and the ruins have uneven ground, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. In the hot months, try to time your visit for the cooler morning hours when you plan around your flight.
We are staying on the coast. How should we plan the day?
Because Uzuncaburc is a small highland village, many visitors base themselves in Silifke, Taşucu or Kızkalesi. You can book one transfer from the airport to Uzuncaburc and another from the ruins to your hotel, and add your airport return with the Add return option. Prices for each vehicle class are shown in the booking form.
