A Hacıbektaş to Çukurova Airport transfer usually falls on the last day of something: a pilgrimage, a commemoration, an association trip. Goodbyes are said in the courtyard of the lodge, cases line up outside the guesthouse, and someone is still looking at souvenirs. The drive runs south across the steppe, through Gülşehir and Nevşehir to Niğde, over the Taurus Mountains and down to the Mediterranean plain near Tarsus. This page covers planning around your departure, gathering a group and splitting vehicles by flight.

Setting the Departure After the Visit

Visit programmes are flexible. Flights are not. Set the pickup by the flight, not by the programme. Write down the departure time. Subtract the check-in and bag-drop window your airline recommends. Allow for security. Then add the long drive from Hacıbektaş. The result is your pickup time.

You choose it and enter it in the booking form, and the driver is at the door at that time. On ceremony days traffic leaving the town can build up, and in winter the plateau and Taurus pass may see snow or fog. In either case, add a margin.

Gathering the Group at One Door

The time a large group loses usually starts when the vehicle pulls up. One case is still in a room, one person is at the market. That is easy to avoid. Pick the entrance of your accommodation as the meeting point. Name a group leader and put their name and phone number in the notes. Bring the bags down before pickup and finish the head count before the vehicle arrives.

If older travellers are with you, let them wait inside until the vehicle is at the door. Keep walking sticks, medicine bags and hand luggage close to them.

Different Flights, Different Vehicles

Not everyone in an association group always flies home on the same plane. Squeezing everyone into one vehicle then leaves early flyers and late flyers both in a bind. The practical answer is to split by flight:

  • Book passengers on the same flight together and choose a vehicle for that headcount.
  • Open a separate booking for each other flight, each with a pickup time worked back from its own departure.
  • The Mercedes Sprinter takes up to fifteen people, and the Mercedes Vito up to eight.
  • A seven-person party wanting wider seats can take the Ultra VIP Sprinter, and a small family a VIP Vito or Premium Sedan.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and the form shows every class side by side.

From the Steppe to the Plain

The car heads south out of Hacıbektaş through farmland and open steppe, then reaches Gülşehir and the soft volcanic hills of Cappadocia. It passes Nevşehir and drops south to Niğde. On the Taurus crossing, tunnels and narrow valleys follow one another. Out of the mountains the air warms, the Çukurova plain opens up and the road ends at the airport near Tarsus.

Booking for a Group

Choose Nevşehir Hacıbektaş as the starting point and Çukurova Airport as the destination. In the notes, give the number of passengers, flight number, departure time and the name of your accommodation. If the headcount or time changes, send a change request from the My Reservation page. For more about the town, see our Hacıbektaş transfer page.

Frequently Asked Questions

We do not know the exact address of our guesthouse. What should we write?

Give the name of the guesthouse or accommodation, the association or organisation it belongs to and a well-known place nearby. Add a phone number that will be on at pickup. For groups, naming the person in charge helps our driver reach the right door without delay.

What if our number of passengers changes at the last minute?

Send a change request with the new headcount from the My Reservation page. More people may need a larger vehicle class, while fewer may fit a smaller one. Because prices are per vehicle, the change follows the vehicle class. The earlier you send the request, the easier it is to arrange.

Our group is larger than fifteen. How should we plan?

The largest single vehicle is the fifteen-seat Mercedes Sprinter. For bigger groups, make more than one booking and divide passengers between vehicles. If everyone is on the same flight, enter the same flight number and pickup time on each booking, and give each vehicle its own leader to speed up gathering.

Our flight is early in the morning. Should we leave at night?

With an early departure the pickup may fall late at night. Work it out by counting back from the flight, using your airline's recommended check-in time and the long drive over the Taurus. Pack the night before and tell the whole group the pickup time before everyone goes to bed.
