About the destination

Transfer to Limonlu

Most Limonlu transfer requests come from people holding the keys to a summer apartment. Limonlu is a small coastal community in the Erdemli district of Mersin, built where the Limonlu River leaves the Taurus Mountains and meets the sea. It is quieter than Kizkalesi and less urban than Erdemli itself. This page covers what Limonlu is like, who stays there, and where our private transfers take you from it.

A River Town on an Old Border

Water is what sets Limonlu apart. The river runs straight through the settlement and brings a cooler breath down to the shore. In antiquity it marked the line between Rough Cilicia to the west and Flat Cilicia to the east, and you can still read that change in the landscape. Look west and the coast turns rocky and broken. Look east and it flattens out into greenhouses and citrus groves.

At the river mouth stood an ancient city, first called Lamos and later Antiochia Lamotis. On a hill just north of town are the ruins of a medieval castle with an oval ring of walls. Further north you can spot traces of the aqueduct that once carried river water west to the ancient towns along the coast. Nobody tours these stones like a museum. They sit among gardens and side roads, part of everyday life.

Summer Homes, Heavy Luggage

Visitors to Limonlu tend to fit a pattern. Few stay in hotels; most use their own holiday flat or a family house. A retired couple arrives in May to open up for the season. A family lands in June with more bags than any boot was designed for. An owner from Adana stretches the summer into late September.

What they share is luggage. Winter bedding going one way, summer things the other, sometimes a boxed appliance in between. So pick your vehicle by load rather than headcount. Two travellers with a few cases are fine in a Business Sedan or Comfort Class. A larger family with boxes and a pushchair is better off in a VIP Vito or the eight-seat Mercedes Vito. Prices are per vehicle, not per passenger.

Where We Drive From Limonlu

Limonlu sits roughly midway along the coast road between Mersin and Silifke, which makes trips in either direction easy.

  • East: Erdemli town, central Mersin, Tarsus and Adana
  • West: Ayaş, Kizkalesi, Narlıkuyu and the Heaven and Hell sinkholes
  • Further afield: Silifke, Taşucu and the Akkuyu side of the coast
  • Back to the airport, timed around your flight

Short hops to neighbouring resorts are popular for meeting weekend guests, getting to a wedding or heading to Kizkalesi for dinner. Use the "Add return" option in the booking form and both legs sit in one reservation.

The Airport Leg

Nearly everyone reaches Limonlu by air first. How the arrivals meeting works, how the route crosses Mersin and drops down to the coast, and which car suits holiday luggage are all covered on our page about the transfer from Çukurova Airport to Limonlu. This page is about the place; that one is about the journey.

To book, choose Limonlu in the form on our site and enter your date and time. Every vehicle class shows its price side by side. Put the name of your complex or building in the notes so pickup and drop-off are clear, and add a child seat as an extra if you need one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly is Limonlu?

Limonlu is a coastal settlement in the Erdemli district of Mersin province, west of Erdemli town on the coast road towards Silifke. The Limonlu River flows through it into the sea. Around it you will find traces of the ancient city of Lamos, castle ruins on the hill above and plenty of holiday apartment complexes.

I am moving a lot of things to my summer flat. Which car should I book?

If you travel with boxes, suitcases and small household items, book one class larger than your passenger count suggests. The VIP Vito and the eight-seat Mercedes Vito have far more luggage space than any sedan. Because pricing is per vehicle, the upgrade rarely changes the cost per person much. Mention the load briefly in the notes.

Can you drive us from Limonlu to Kizkalesi or Silifke?

Yes. We run point-to-point private transfers west to Ayaş, Kizkalesi, Narlıkuyu and Silifke, and east to Erdemli, Mersin, Tarsus and Adana. For a same-day round trip, use the Add return option in the booking form so both legs sit in a single reservation. The booking form shows the price for each vehicle class.

Can I change my booking later?

Open the My Reservation page to view your booking and send a change request for the time, address or number of passengers. Our team reviews the request and updates the plan accordingly. If the name or block number of your holiday complex has changed, you can pass that on through the same page.
