Transfer to Kahramanmaraş Türkoğlu

People booking a Turkoglu transfer often describe it as “the town just before Maraş”, and that is accurate: the road from the south passes through Turkoglu before reaching central Kahramanmaraş. It is a farming district in the middle of a wide plain, recently back in the news because of Gavur Lake. This page covers what Turkoglu is like, what lies around it and where our private transfers take people from here.

From Eloğlu to Turkoglu

The town's story is short but colourful. The first settlers are remembered as the Tecirli, an Oghuz Turkic tribe settled by the Ottoman administration after a nomadic past. The village used to be called Eloğlu. When it became a district in 1960, it took the name Turkoglu.

Today the centre is a plain Anatolian market town. Shops along the main road, neighbourhoods running out to the fields behind. During harvest, tractors are everywhere on the roads. Worth knowing. It can affect your timing.

The Lake That Came Back

South of town, on the flat land known as Sağlık Plain, there was once a large lake called Gavur Lake. It was drained in the mid-twentieth century to create farmland. In recent wet years the area has started holding water again, and birds on the migration route have returned.

That brings birdwatchers, nature photographers and curious families. The local municipality also promotes these spots:

  • Turkoglu Castle
  • Domuztepe Mound, an archaeological site
  • Yoğunoluk plateau, where locals head to escape summer heat
  • Değirmen Park waterfall, a favourite weekend picnic spot for families

You can book point-to-point transfers to these places and add the trip back with the “Add return” option in the booking form.

Who We Drive in Turkoglu

Most of our passengers have family ties here: relatives coming home for the holidays, buyers visiting farms, older residents heading to hospital in the city. In migration season we also meet guests with binoculars and tripods.

Two people travel comfortably in a Business Sedan or Premium Sedan. A small group with camera gear fits its bags easily in a VIP Vito. For big family gatherings, an eight-seat Mercedes Vito or a fifteen-seat Mercedes Sprinter keeps everyone together.

Where We Go From Turkoglu

Turkoglu sits between two directions: central Kahramanmaraş to the north and the roads to Gaziantep to the south. Guests travel to the city for hospitals, the university and official business, to Gaziantep for work and shopping, and to Adana and Osmaniye to visit relatives. For the airport leg, including the mountain crossing and meeting at arrivals, see our page on the transfer from Çukurova Airport to Turkoglu.

We price per vehicle, not per person. Choose Kahramanmaraş Türkoğlu in the booking form, add your neighbourhood or village in the notes and compare vehicle classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Turkoglu in relation to Kahramanmaraş?

Turkoglu is a district of Kahramanmaraş province, south of the city centre on the road towards Gaziantep. Traffic coming from the south passes through it before reaching Kahramanmaraş. The settlement, formerly called Eloğlu, became a district in 1960 and was renamed Turkoglu at that time.

Can you take us to Gavur Lake?

Yes. You can book a point-to-point transfer to the Gavur Lake area from Turkoglu or from any other point in our service area. Tell us in the notes where around the lake you want to be dropped off. Add the return with the “Add return” option and both legs are planned at the times you choose.

Do you drive to village addresses?

We work door to door and also serve the villages and neighbourhoods around Turkoglu. Write the village name, the neighbourhood and a local phone number in the notes. If a lane is unsuitable for a large vehicle, the car stops at the nearest safe point.

Which vehicle suits a group with camera gear?

For three or four people with tripods, lens bags and backpacks, a VIP Vito is a good choice because the luggage space takes equipment easily. Larger groups often choose the eight-seat Mercedes Vito. Since the price is per vehicle, the cost per person falls as the group grows.
