An Ekinözü to Çukurova Airport transfer comes at the end of a stay at the İçmeler springs. The course of drinking the water is done, the apartment keys go back, and the bottles and pill boxes get one last check. The drive is a long descent, from a cool mountain district through Kahramanmaraş and down to the hot Çukurova plain. This page is mainly for families heading home with elderly parents: timing the pickup, preparing for the road and making the booking.

Keep the Last Spring Day Apart From Flight Day

Families at İçmeler often want to keep up the drinking routine until the very end. For an older traveller, though, a final session, a long drive and a flight on the same day can be a lot. Where you can, leave a gap between the last day at the springs and the day you fly. A calm morning before departure means less tiredness carried into the terminal.

Work out the pickup by counting back from departure. Subtract the check-in and bag-drop window your airline recommends, allow for security, then add the drive. With elderly passengers nobody wants to rush, so put a little extra margin on top. You set the time and enter it in the form.

Medication in Hand, Bottles in the Hold

Luggage after a spa stay has its own character. A week of clothes, plus medicine, blood pressure or glucose monitors and sometimes bottles of spring water to take home. Before leaving, sort it like this:

  • Daily medication, prescriptions and any monitors go in hand luggage, since you may need them on the road or on the plane.
  • Seal water bottles tightly, pack them in a suitcase and check your airline's liquid and weight rules.
  • If an older passenger needs a wheelchair or help inside the terminal, request it from the airline in advance.
  • Keep ID, boarding passes and a phone charger in an easy-to-reach pocket.

The Morning You Leave the Apartment Hotel

At the apartment hotels around İçmeler, check-out time and flight time seldom match. Book the transfer to suit the flight rather than the check-out. If there is a gap, plan how to fill it and ask whether you can leave cases with the property.

In the notes, give the name of the apartment hotel, the block or entrance you will leave from and a phone number that will be on. If an older passenger can only manage a few steps, mention it so the car can stop as close to the door as possible.

The Right Car for an Older Traveller

On a long downhill drive, what matters most is getting in and out easily and sitting comfortably. A couple fits well in a Business Sedan or Premium Sedan. A family of four or five travelling with parents has more room in a VIP Vito or Ultra VIP Vito, and a bigger family can take the eight-seat Mercedes Vito. Prices are per vehicle, not per person.

The road drops from the hills to Kahramanmaraş and on to the plain. In summer it gets noticeably hotter as you descend, so keep a light cardigan and cooler clothes in the same bag.

Making the Booking

In the form, select Ekinözü or your apartment hotel as the pickup point and Çukurova Airport as the destination. Put your flight number, departure time and pickup details in the notes. If plans change, send a change request from the My Reservation page. For more about the district and the springs, see our Ekinözü transfer page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should we fly on the last day at the springs or the day after?

That depends on your own and your doctor's plans. For older travellers it is usually easier to keep the last day at the springs separate from flight day, so the morning of departure starts rested. Whichever day you choose, book the transfer by counting back from the flight time and allowing for the drive and the airport.

A family member uses a wheelchair. How should we prepare?

Ask your airline directly for wheelchair and in-terminal assistance before you fly. In the notes of our booking, mention that a wheelchair is coming along and that the passenger may need help getting into the car. Choosing a VIP Vito or a larger vehicle leaves comfortable room for a folding chair alongside the cases.

Can we take İçmeler water home with us?

Carrying it in the car is no problem; the airline's rules are what decide. Liquids are restricted in the cabin, and in the hold they count towards your weight allowance. Close the bottles firmly, wrap them in a bag against leaks and check the baggage allowance on your ticket before you set off.

We check out at noon but fly in the evening. What should we do?

Book the transfer by the flight time. Think ahead about how to spend the hours in between and ask the property whether you can leave your cases. In the notes, give the entrance for pickup and a phone number that will be switched on; the driver is there at the time you chose.
