Summer Weekend Traffic and the Coast Road
From the airport the car heads west toward Mersin. In summer, especially on Friday evenings, traffic can build at the Mersin exit and along the holiday homes toward Erdemli. Everyone is going to the beach. After Silifke the traffic thins out but the road changes. Past Taşucu it becomes a winding coastal road hugging the shore, through Aydıncık and Bozyazı.

Planning the Car for a Beach Stay
On a beach holiday, luggage grows faster than the head count. A rough guide:
- A couple travelling light: Business Sedan or Comfort Class
- A couple with more bags, or three people: Premium Sedan
- A family with two children, a pushchair and beach gear: VIP Vito
- A group of friends or two families together: the eight-seat Mercedes Vito
Larger groups can choose the 15-seat Mercedes Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle, not per person, which makes a real difference for bigger groups. Add a child seat as an extra when you book.
Do the Sunday Maths Early
The last day of a holiday is often a Sunday, and on Sunday evenings the coast road can get busy in the other direction. When you choose the pickup time for your return flight, allow for that traffic, the length of the drive and the formalities at the airport. Leaving a little earlier takes the stress out of the gate.

Will a Friday-evening arrival take much longer?
On summer Friday evenings traffic can build at the Mersin exit and along the Erdemli coast, which can stretch the trip. After Silifke the road usually clears, but the winding coastal section keeps the pace slow. It is a good idea to tell the hotel you may arrive late.
Can the car drive into the neighbourhood to the hotel door?
Yes, we work door to door. Balşen Hotel is in the İskele quarter, and since the hotel name is in your booking, you do not need to give directions. If you are booking a larger vehicle and want to pass on a note, use the notes field in the booking form.
We are four with lots of luggage. Is a sedan enough?
The sedan classes are for three passengers. Four people with beach luggage belong in a VIP Vito. If you have a pushchair, umbrellas and large suitcases, the eight-seat Mercedes Vito is roomier still. Prices are per vehicle, and each class shows its own price in the booking form.
When should we book the return transfer?
The simplest way is to add it with “Add return” while booking your arrival. Pick the pickup time by counting back from your flight, allowing for Sunday-evening traffic on the coast road and airport check-in. Changes can be requested from the My Reservation page.
