Çukurova Airport Anazarbus Transfer
Vehicles & Prices
Price per vehicle — pick a class and book in a minute.
A Çukurova Airport to Anazarbus transfer is for travellers who want to turn a flight straight into a visit to an ancient city. The airport sits at the western end of the plain on the Tarsus side; Anazarbus lies to the north-east, beside the village of Dilekkaya in the Kozan district. This page covers the journey from landing to the ruins and how to plan the day around it.
Off the Plane and Into Antiquity
We track your flight number. If the plane is late, the pickup shifts to the actual landing time. Your driver waits at the arrivals exit with a sign showing your name. Travellers on an early morning flight can be walking among the ruins before noon.
There is one catch. Your suitcases come along too, so pick a vehicle with room for them.
Across the Plain From End to End
Almost the whole drive runs across the flat Çukurova plain. First you head towards Adana. After skirting the city, the road turns north-east towards Kozan through endless fields of cotton, maize and citrus.
Towards the end, a rock appears on the horizon. Because the plain is so flat, the Anazarbus ridge looks like a lone wall rising out of nowhere. As you get closer you start to pick out the castle walls, then the houses of Dilekkaya and the ruins scattered among the fields.
A Vehicle for Your Group
Visitors usually carry a mix of suitcases and day bags, and photographers bring extra gear.
- Two people with suitcases and a backpack: Business Sedan or Premium Sedan
- A photo crew with tripods and camera cases: VIP Vito
- An academic study group or small tour: eight-seat Mercedes Vito
- A student group or larger tour: Mercedes Sprinter
A solo researcher who wants a quiet ride may prefer Comfort Class, while small groups after more space can choose the Ultra VIP Vito or Ultra VIP Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle and the booking form shows every class side by side.
Planning the Day: There, Around, Back
There is no accommodation at Anazarbus in our system, so this is usually a day trip. The simplest plan: airport to Anazarbus, a few hours exploring, then on to your hotel in Adana or back to the airport. Use "Add return" in the booking form to plan the second leg in the same booking, and give yourself enough time on site. For more on the ruins and nearby stops, see our Anazarbus page.
In summer, avoid the midday heat. There is little shade among the ruins. To begin, choose Çukurova Airport as pickup and Anavarza Antik Kenti as drop-off in the form, then add your flight number.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we go straight from the airport to Anazarbus?
Yes. Just choose Anavarza Antik Kenti as the drop-off in your booking. Your driver meets you at the arrivals exit with a name sign and takes you directly to the ancient city. Since your luggage travels with you, pick a vehicle class with enough space; with camera gear, the VIP Vito is a comfortable choice.
How do we get back to our hotel in Adana after the visit?
Plan it from the start. Use the "Add return" option in the booking form to set a pickup time from Anazarbus to your hotel. Allow enough time on site: the ruins cover a wide area, and climbing up to the castle takes longer. If plans change, send a request through the My Reservation page.
Which route does the drive follow?
Nearly all of it is on the flat Çukurova plain. The route heads from the airport towards Adana, skirts the city and then turns north-east towards Kozan. At the end of a road lined with fields, the Anazarbus ridge rises alone on the horizon. Your driver picks the smoothest route for the traffic at the time.
We want to be there at sunrise for photos. Is that possible?
Yes. Choose a pickup time that matches sunrise in the booking form. If you are staying in Adana, you are collected from your hotel early and dropped at Anazarbus. Set the return time with "Add return" so we collect you once you have finished shooting. The VIP Vito suits tripods and camera bags.
