A Yumurtalık to Çukurova Airport transfer starts on the shore of the Gulf of İskenderun and crosses the plain from east to west: first toward Ceyhan, then Adana, then on to the airport near Tarsus. Some of the people who book it are families closing up a summer house at the end of the season. Others are technical visitors finishing work at the energy and port facilities on the gulf. This page is for both, from shutting the house to the site gate, from guesthouse breakfast to an early flight.

The Last Morning at the Summer House

Leaving a holiday home at season's end is nothing like checking out of a hotel. The house will stand empty for months, and closing it takes longer than you expect. Do not leave it all for the final morning:

  • Empty the fridge the day before and leave the door ajar.
  • Turn off the water, power and gas bottle, or agree with a neighbour who will.
  • Bring in cushions, sunshades and garden furniture, since autumn winds on the gulf can be strong.
  • Decide in advance who keeps the key.
  • Gather the cases going on the plane in one corner, away from what stays behind.
  • Keep a small rubbish bag you can take with you on the way out.

Once that is done, all that is left is locking the door. Have the car at the gate by then.

Guesthouse Breakfast or Early Flight?

In Yumurtalık's guesthouses, breakfast is often the best hour of the day. With an early departure you may not get both. If breakfast matters, choose your flight with that in mind. If the flight is fixed, tell your host the night before; they may put something together for the road.

To find the pickup time, count back from departure. Subtract the check-in and bag-drop window your airline recommends, add a margin for security, then allow for the drive across the plain from the gulf. At the end of summer weekends, traffic heading back from the coast can build up, so bring the pickup forward if your flight falls then. You set the time and enter it in the form.

From the Site Gate to the Terminal

For business visitors the day runs differently. A meeting or site inspection ends and you head straight for the airport. Put the facility name and the gate you will leave from in the notes. If cars cannot pass the security post, plan to meet outside the gate. If the meeting might overrun, do not choose a pickup later than the time you counted back from the flight. A Comfort Class or Premium Sedan suits one traveller, a Mercedes Vito a team.

Vehicle, Luggage and Booking

Families leaving a summer house tend to carry plenty. A Business Sedan is enough for two. A family with children is comfortable in a VIP Vito, two families together in the eight-seat Mercedes Vito, and a large group of relatives in the Mercedes Sprinter. Prices are per vehicle, not per person, and the form shows each class. A child seat can be added as an extra.

In the form, select Yumurtalık, your guesthouse or your hotel as the start and Çukurova Airport as the destination. Add your flight number, departure time and the name of your holiday complex to the notes. If plans change, send a change request from the My Reservation page. For more about the town, see our Yumurtalık transfer page.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are closing up the summer house. How do we choose a pickup time?

First count back from the flight to find the latest time you can leave: the airline's check-in window, a security margin and the drive across the plain. Then fit the closing-up jobs before that. If the fridge, water and garden furniture are dealt with the day before, the morning is just locking up. You enter the pickup time in the form yourself.

Our guesthouse is off the main road. How will the driver find us?

In the notes, give the guesthouse or complex name, the street and your host's number if you have it, and make sure your own phone is on at pickup. Where the lanes are too narrow for a vehicle, agreeing an easy-to-describe meeting point near the main road speeds things up.

Can I go straight from a meeting at the facility to the airport?

Yes. Choose Yumurtalık as the start and write the facility name and exit gate in the notes. If vehicles cannot pass the security post, plan to meet outside. If the meeting may run long, keep the pickup at the time you counted back from your flight, and send a change request from My Reservation if the flight moves.

Is traffic heavy at the end of summer weekends?

On the last weekends of the season, roads can fill up with cars heading back from the coast to the city, with Sunday afternoon and evening the busiest times. If your flight falls then, bring the pickup forward a little. On weekdays and late at night, the road across the plain usually flows more freely.
