About the destination

Transfer to Adana Karataş

A Karataş transfer is mostly a summer request. Karataş is one of Adana's two coastal districts, along with Yumurtalık: the city's holiday-home town, a fishing harbour and a nesting beach for sea turtles, all at the southern tip of the plain where the Seyhan delta meets the Mediterranean. When Adana bakes in July, this is where people go. Here is what Karataş is like, who stays there and how our private transfers connect it with the rest of the region.

Adana's Own Stretch of Coast

The drive in crosses flat, wide farmland until the sea suddenly appears ahead. The town centre wraps around a small fishing harbour. Boats come back early in the morning; by evening the fish restaurants along the front are full. The beaches are long and open.

In summer the population swells. Plenty of Adana families keep a holiday flat here. Some work in the city during the week and come down at weekends, others move down for the whole school holiday.

The Magarsus Headland and Akyatan Beaches

There is more here than sand. On a headland by the sea lie the remains of the ancient city of Magarsus. The best-excavated structure so far is a theatre dating from the Hellenistic period. The city is also linked with a temple of Athena, and tradition says Alexander the Great offered a sacrifice here. That explains why several local hotels carry the Magarsus name.

Along the district's coastline lie the Akyatan lagoon and its beaches, counted among the most important green turtle nesting sites in the Mediterranean. The area is protected and only scientific and conservation work takes place inside it, so visitors need to respect the rules.

Where We Drive From Karataş

The airport run is the most common request. We also drive guests to central Adana for business and back to the beach by evening, and along the coast towards Yumurtalık or west to Mersin. For the airport leg itself, see our page on the airport transfer to Karataş.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person. Select Karataş or your hotel in the booking form, enter the date and time, and compare vehicle classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which hotels in Karataş do you serve?

Twelve places to stay in Karataş are listed in our system, including Magarsus Elit Hotel, Port Marina Otel, Mavi Park Otel, Martı Otel and Ünal Pansiyon. If your hotel, guesthouse or holiday complex is not on the list, choose Karataş as the destination and write the address in the notes field; we drive you to the door.

Can I book a transfer to the Magarsus ruins?

Yes. Magarsus sits on a headland by the sea in Karataş. You can book a transfer there from your hotel in Adana or Karataş and include the trip back in the same reservation with the Add return option. Prices for each vehicle class are shown in the booking form.

We are moving into our summer flat with lots of boxes. Which car?

Families heading for a holiday flat usually carry more boxes and bags than suitcases. A family of four or five has plenty of luggage space in a VIP Vito. For up to eight people choose the Mercedes Vito, and for a bigger group the Mercedes Sprinter. If in doubt, go one class up.

Can I do a day return from Karataş to Adana city?

Yes. Book the morning trip from Karataş to Adana and the evening return in a single reservation by using the Add return option in the form. If your meeting runs late or plans change, send a change request through the My Reservation page on our website.
