From the Stone Bridge to the Clock Tower

Central Adana sits on the west bank of the Seyhan. Taşköprü, the stone bridge with Roman-era arches, is one of the city's oldest landmarks. Nearby on the riverbank rise the six minarets of the Sabancı Central Mosque. A few streets inland you reach the Great Clock Tower and the old bazaars around it, where you can still hear coppersmiths hammering in the Kazancılar market.

Around sunset the river changes the mood of the city. People walk in Merkez Park, tea gardens fill along the bank, the bridges light up. In summer the heat lasts late. So do the crowds.

Most hotels cluster along the main boulevards and near the river. International visitors often start a wider trip here, heading on to Hatay, Gaziantep or Cappadocia after a night or two in the city.

A two-person business trip is easily handled by a Business Sedan or Premium Sedan. A large family arriving for a wedding usually picks the eight-seat Mercedes Vito, while a bigger party can travel together in the fifteen-seat Mercedes Sprinter.

City Traffic and Good Timing

Adana is flat. No hills to climb, but plenty of traffic. On weekday evenings the main boulevards and the river crossings slow down, especially if your trip means crossing between Seyhan and Yüreğir. If you have an appointment, put the time in your booking notes and choose a slightly earlier pickup.

Summer middays are fierce. If you plan to explore, go early in the morning or late in the afternoon, and set your transfer times around that.
